I grew up in the Roman Catholic Church and always believed in a God. I thought that my Christening, Holy Communion and Confirmation were all reasons I would go to heaven. When I was 18 I met a Christian who told me what the Bible says: “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God”. Ephesians 2:8
The Bible revealed that none of the things that I had done as a Catholic, nor the good person I thought I was, would get me to heaven. Only Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross (which was God’s gift to sinners) could save me. I prayed to the Lord and asked him to forgive me for all my sin and help me to live a life of faith in Jesus Christ. The Lord answered my prayer and kept His promise, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Luke 11:9 I was born again; the Lord changed me and I became a Christian.
